Installing Ringtones to a Motorola Q Cell Phone

Ringtones are one of the hottest items in the wireless market today. It's not only teenagers craving for ringtones of their favorites artists. Having a custom ringtone on a cell phone is a small way of setting apart from everyone else. But how do the ringtones get onto a cell phone at all? Each cell phone is different and if you think you know them all, you are most likely wrong. This guide will provide you with all necessary steps to install a new ringtone to a Motorola Q (Moto Q) cell phone.

How to install a new ringtone on a Motorola Q Cell Phone?

To install a new ringtone on a Motorola Q you need to follow these steps. For this tutorial we assume that you already have a new ringtone file download to your computer. Connect your Moto Q to your PC or laptop via USB cable or Bluetooth wireless connection and open up the ActiveSync application if it does not start automatically.

In the ActiveSync Application do the following:

* Click the Explore button

* Double-click the device icon. (My Windows Mobile powered device)

* Open the Application Data folder

* Open the Sounds folder

* Drag the new ringtone file from the location you saved it to on your computer down into the into the sounds folder in ActiveSync

* Now disconnect your Motorola Q from your computer

Now, switch activity to your Motorola Q. You will now tell your cell phone to use this new ringtone you just copied over. To do this, do the following:

* Press Start (Left Soft Key)

* Scroll down to and select the Settings icon

* Continue to scroll to and select the Sounds icon

* Select the Ring tone, and press the Navigation Key right or left to scroll to the desired ring tone.

* Press Done once you selected the new ringtone of your choice.

Done. You just installed a new, custom ringtone on your Motorola Q.
